DC Workforce Investment Council Board of Directors

In accordance with Mayor Anthony Williams' Order 99-85, dated June 2, 1999, the District of Columbia Workforce Investment Council (DC WIC) was established. This Council serves as a public-private partnership group, empowered to advise the Mayor and the District Government on:

  • Development, implementation, and continuous improvement of an integrated and effective workforce investment system
  • Enhancement of accountability and performance measure systems
  • Promotion of private sector participation
  • Encouragement of public input and support

This Council replaces the previous Private Industry Council (PIC) and adheres to the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 requirements for membership and function. It has taken an active role in overseeing the implementation of the five-year strategic plan.
