Training and Education

The Department of Employment Services (DOES) helps develop Washington's workforce through training and education. For more information about job training opportunities, call or visit one of the One-Stop Career Centers.

New Free Adult Training Programs

The Office of the Deputy Mayor for Education and the Department of Employment Services are pleased to announce new adult training programs beginning this September in partnership with the DC Students Construction Trades Foundation, the Washington Hospitality Foundation and the Workforce Development Program of the DC Community College. 

The Hospitality Industry Career Training Program will be offered at Roosevelt High School, while the Construction Pre-Apprenticeship Program will be offered at the Academy of Construction and Design at Cardozo High School.

Both training programs are free to District residents and will lead to industry recognized certificates in the high growth sectors of construction or hospitality.
