Senior Community Service Employment Program

The Department of Employment Services (DOES) Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) has submitted a draft copy of the 4-Year State Plan for Program Years 2008-2011 for public review and comment.

The Senior Community Service Employment Program is a community service and work-based training program funded by the US Department of Labor (USDOL). SCSEP provides meaningful, part-time, paid work experience/training to low-income District residents ages 55 and older. The program’s mission is to promote pathways to economic self-sufficiency for older individuals, enhance employment opportunities, and provide businesses with trained, qualified, and reliable workers.
