The DC Department of Employment Services (DOES) Office of Apprenticeship, Information and Training (OAIT) and the First Source division, in partnership with the U. S. Department of Labor (USDOL) Wage and Hour Division, will host an all-day Prevailing Wage Seminar (PWS). Technical experts from USDOL will be onsite to provide training and guidance to District Government employees in contracting and procurement and enforcement divisions regarding Davis-Bacon and Related Acts (DBRA), which are administered by the USDOL Wage and Hour Division and apply to contractors and subcontractors performing on federally funded or assisted contracts.
The goal is to bring about an immediate impact in reducing the number Davis-Bacon violations on city construction projects by providing all contractors and subcontractors performing on federal contracts (and on federally assisted contracts under the related Acts) a uniform standard for interpreting the law. Training session topics will include DB Wage Determination, Service Contract Act Wage Determination, DB Conformance & Area Practice, DB Compliance Principals, and Investigation Procedures.
This PWS training is for District Government employees only.
