5×5, the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities’s new temporary public art project, will result in twenty-five groundbreaking temporary public artinstallations that will be installed concurrently throughout the District of Columbia.
5x5 is back for another year! Over the summer, the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities (DCCAH) issued a call to artists in search of five highly-experienced and innovative contemporary art curators. Through this open application process, the art advisory panel has shortlisted 9 curators who are currently preparing site specific proposals. The final 5 curators will be selected in early 2014.
The result will be twenty-five projects which will activate publicly accessible spaces and add an ephemeral layer of creativity and artistic expression to neighborhoods across the District.
