District’s Unemployment Rate Drops to 7.6 Percent in December 2013

Washington, DC -The District of Columbia Department of Employment Services reported today that the revised December 2013 seasonally adjusted unemployment rate is at 7.6 percent, which is 1.1 percentage points lower than the December 2012 rate of 8.7 percent. The December 2013 rate was 2.1 percentage points lower than the December 2011 rate of 9.7. The District’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate has continued to show moderate over-the-month and over-the-year decreases.
