One City High School Internship Program

The One City High School Internship Program (OCHSIP) is a partnership between the DC Department of Employment Services and the DC Department of Human Resources, designed to provide District high school students with structured internship opportunities and mentoring relationships.

OCHSIP strives to provide students with the opportunity to do the following:
  • Gain meaningful work experience through a paid internship
  • Learn and develop skills, attitudes and the commitment necessary to succeed in today’s world of work
  • Interact with dynamic working professionals in a positive work environment
  • Develop a better understanding of public service careers while earning time and grade qualifications with District Government

Application/Program Dates

The Application will be available Monday March 4, 2013 through Friday March 15, 2013. 

The 2013 OSHSIP will begin on Monday, April 22, 2013, and will end on Friday, August 9, 2013. Youth participants will automatically transition into the Summer Youth Employment Program.
