Skip the Bag, Save the River: How Else Can I Help Keep the District's Rivers Clean?
Support the Anacostia River Cleanup and Protection Fund when you pay your income taxes.
If you pay income taxes in the District, you can make an extra contribution to DDOE's efforts to clean up our waterways. Just use Line 9c on the 2012 D40EZ form, or Schedule U, Part II, Line 3 on the D40. Your contribution will make a difference in educating the public about litter, handing out reusable bags to low-income District residents, and cleaning up the Anacostia.
Get a Save the River commemorative license plate.
In 2010, DDOE partnered with the District Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to create a commemorative "Save the River" license plate. Part of the proceeds from the plate fee will go to the Anacostia River Cleanup and Protection Fund, and you'll show your fellow drivers you care about clean waterways.
