As part of the MBSYEP Pre-Apprenticeship Intermediary Initiative, DOES’ OAIT is seeking high quality, structured and innovative grant applications from organizations to develop and implement pre-apprenticeship initiatives within skilled trades or non-traditional trades that lead to registered apprenticeship opportunities for minority youth (in-school and out-of-school) ages 18-24 and inclusive individuals (individuals possessing physical or mental condition(s) that limits movements, senses, or activities. To demonstrate capacity to move SYEP participants into apprenticeship opportunities post-apprenticeship completion, applying organizations must demonstrate partnerships with registered apprenticeship programs approved by the D.C. Apprenticeship Council via letter of support(s), MOU(s), or other written means to denote partnership.
