(Washington, DC) – Today, the District of Columbia Department of Employment Services (DOES) announced that due to a water main break, the agency headquarters located at 4058 Minnesota Avenue NE, Washington, DC 20019 is closed for the day. The American Job Center at the Minnesota Avenue NE location is also closed. The three other American Job Centers located throughout the District remain open.
DOES will reopen on Friday, May 25 and resume normal hours of operation. Customers are encouraged to visit one of the three other American Job Centers for in-person customer service. For more information on DOES programs and services, and for Center locations, visit the DOES website does.dc.gov.
The DOES-managed American Job Centers provide job seekers with counseling, resume assistance, job placement, vocational training, access to online services, information about local and national labor markets, unemployment insurance, and other employment services. Dislocated workers may file for unemployment insurance at an American Job Center or online via the DOES website.
The Department of Employment Services (DOES) is the District’s lead labor, workforce development agency, and is responsible for providing District residents with critical employment readiness and job training services, and District businesses with a qualified pool of potential employees.
