Screening of the 2006 documentary, Dance Party: The Teenarama Story. 2006 Emmy Award for Best Cultural Documentary. Featuring interviews with James Brown, Jerry Butler and Martha Reeves.

Dance Party Immediately Following the Screening

The Teenarama Story is particular to Washington, DC, but the phenomenon of teen television dance shows was mirrored in urban communities all over the country. This documentary is an engaging story of youth, popular culture, race, television, American history and the contrast between the youth of today and yesteryear.
