State Information Data Exchange System (SIDES) E-Response

The State Information Data Exchange System E-Response (SIDES E-Response) was developed through a strategic partnership between the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) and state unemployment insurance (UI) agencies.  SIDES E-Response offers employers and third-party administrators (TPAs) – free of charge – a secure, electronic and nationally-standardized format to better anticipate and supply the data needed for responding to UI information requests, reducing follow-up phone calls and streamlining UI response processes.

DOES it excited to announce that the State Information Data Exchange System (SIDES) E-Response is being updated! SIDES E-Response is a free website where employers and their representatives can quickly, accurately, and securely submit responses to Unemployment Insurance claims. Some of the exciting new features will include:

  • Fraud indicators to alert the state that immediate action is needed
  • Questions specifically related to the reason for separation
  • A new and efficient process to collect employment details from temporary staffing agencies
  • An ability to upload supporting human resource information

As a result of the update, SIDES E-Response will be unavailable on March 23, 2022, from 2:00 - 6:00 pm ET. Please plan accordingly and be certain to respond to requests in a timely manner as due dates will not be extended.
