One City One Hire is an innovative economic development strategy that serves as a catalyst to jump-start the Mayor's pledge to put all unemployed District residents--in every Ward of the city--back to work.
The District of Columbia Department of Employment Services (DOES) was created to put DC Residents to Work. DOES provides job seekers with a number of employment opportunities. DOES provides job-seekers with many employment opportunities through its American Job Centers. Each center provides career counseling, career planning, resume assistance, job placement assistance, classroom and on-the-job training, access to online job announcements, information about local and national labor markets, unemployment compensation and much more.
