What Does the Future State of Data at DOES Look Like?

  • Source data will flow from all data systems into the data warehouse
  • Controls will be in place to identify and address data errors and data quality issues as data flow into the data warehouse
  • A DOES data standard will be applied to all data, allowing for easy integration and analysis across data assets
  • Metrics and summary statistics will be calculated in real-time as data flow into the data warehouse
  • DOES staff will be able to access data directly from the data warehouse with multiple interface options
  • A data inventory (catalog) will be available for all staff, including data dictionaries and data asset metadata
  • A front-end application to the data warehouse will provide interactive access to individual- and program-level data
  • Staff will be able to drill down into the data from aggregate metrics to gain insights
  • The data warehouse will become the source for reports, metrics, and visualizations
  • DOES staff will be able to access data directly from the data warehouse and the metadata repository with multiple interface options
  • A subset of data in the data warehouse will be classified as “approved for public release”
  • Data that are approved for public release will be made available in the DOES public data portal
