Office of Apprenticeship Pathways to Public Service Program Grant

Application Release Date: March 28, 2025

The Pathways to Public Service Program is an initiative that strengthens the pipeline of diverse talent from local colleges and universities, including Howard University, the University of the District of Columbia, and Bowie State University, into District government roles. The program is designed to provide 12-month public service apprenticeships, professional mentorship, and direct hiring pathways for participants into full-time government employment. DOES OAIT invites applications from organizations with expertise in workforce development, college-based programming, and public administration training. The selected grantee(s) will facilitate apprenticeship placements, oversee professional development training, support with the fiscal administration of supportive services, and coordinate career transition support to ensure participants successfully integrate into long-term public service roles.
