Vendor Outage Impacts District of Columbia Paid Family Leave System and Virtual One-Stop

Thursday, June 30, 2022

(Washington, DC) –The Department of Employment Services (DOES) reported that Geographic Solutions Incorporated (GSI), the vendor that operates the District’s Paid Family Leave (PFL) Benefits Administration System and the Virtual One-Stop (VOS), is experiencing a service interruption impacting PFL system operations and does.dcnetworks.org. The service interruption has resulted in PFL claimants being unable to file new claims, modify existing claims and has delayed scheduled benefit payments this week. The system outage is also preventing customers from conducting job searches or completing career assessments in the VOS system.

DOES remains in regular communication with GSI to receive the latest updates on the service interruption and the vendor’s actions to resolve the issue. According to GSI, there was no data breach, and the personal information of users has not been compromised. More than 35 states have been affected.

While registration for DC Networks and the virtual one-stop services have been suspended, Unemployment Insurance benefits have not been impacted. Claimants are able to file initial and weekly claims for benefits at does.dcnetworks.org/initialclaims. Unemployment Insurance filers and job seekers may also receive services at one of the District’s four American Job Centers.

As more information becomes available, DOES will release additional details at does.dc.gov and post on the agency’s social media pages.
