Mayor Muriel Bowser and the Department of Employment Services (DOES) lead sector-wide collective impact initiatives to address complex challenges in our community.

Through the DC Healthcare Academy, DOES creates innovative public-private partnerships between local government, local employers, and local training providers to recruit, train, and support DC residents to be hired into family-sustaining wages and improving resident services.

Our Mission

Our mission: recruit and support DC residents to receive the training, certifications, and credentials they need to be hired into high-need healthcare careers.
