Dislocated Worker

The Dislocated Worker program is designed to help District workers get back to work as quickly as possible and overcome barriers to employment. When individuals become dislocated workers due to job loss, mass layoffs, global trade dynamics, or transitions in economic sectors, the Dislocated Worker program provides services to assist them in re-entering the workforce. Services for dislocated workers are integrated and provided through the District of Columbia's Department of Employment Services network of American Job Centers (AJCs). Our AJCs offer significant resources to states to help displaced workers, including workforce education, training, employment programs, and Rapid Response.

The District of Columbia's Dislocated Worker (WIOA) program is funded 100% by a $10,070,193.00 grant from the U.S. Department of Labor

The District of Columbia’s Dislocated Worker (COVID) Grant program is funded 100% by a $1,245,969.00 grant from the U.S. Department of Labor.
