Work Experience (WEX)

The DOES Work Experience (WEX) is a critical tool in helping District workers and communities recover from the effects of the economic downturn by providing critical WIOA services.

WEXs are planned, structured, and time-limited on-the-job training experiences that take place at DOES partnering employment sites.

Each WEX program prepares workers for good jobs by providing opportunities to gain skills and knowledge that will prepare workers to succeed in a knowledge-based economy through attaining industry-recognized credentials. At the end of each WEX program, the goal is to obtain employment and/or training in industries and occupations that offer good wages and opportunities for advancement.
