Certifying Bodies, Examinations, and Requirements

The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is the most widely recognized certifying agency for radiologic technologist certifications. The ARRT offers a variety of primary, or entry-level, certifications, including Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Radiation Therapy, Radiography, Sonography, and Vascular Sonography.   • Possession of an associate's degree or higher
  • Completion of an ARRT-approved educational program in the same discipline as the certification
  • Completion of the ARRT ethics review pre-application
  • Pay $225 application fee
  • Maintain certification with 24 hours of continuing education every two years
