Washington Metro Division Shows an Overall Increase of 11,000 Jobs in November

(Washington, DC) - The District of Columbia Department of Employment Services (DOES) reported today that the preliminary November job estimates show an increase of 11,000 jobs for a total of 2,512,400 jobs in the Washington Metropolitan Division. The private sector increased by 10,300 jobs, while the public sector increased by 700 jobs. The Washington Metropolitan Division’s not seasonally adjusted November 2013 unemployment rate was 4.9 percent, which is down 1.0 percentage point from the October rate of 5.9 percent.
